Hello Judges, Contestants, Supporters, and Volunteers!
WE ARE.... SO EXCITED about the number of particpants in the 1st Annual BSC. As of today, we have 210 contestants!!
With this being said, please read the following carefully to make the event run as smooth and efficient as possible:
1. Parking is ONLY permitted in LOT RED A (located off of N. Atherton Street) or in the Nittany Parking Deck (by the Nittany Lion Inn). Parking anywhere else could lead to possible towing.
2. Miss Happy Valley Modeling should be done in a dress - however, if you were under the assumption that a dress was not required, it will NOT be held against you if you decide to wear costume. The set system will mean that this is a quick change if you should decide to wear a dress. Same goes for Novice Modeling. **Remember this is a practice for your Miss Majorettes -- so if you need to wear a gown, this is a good opportunity. NO INTERVIEW AT ALL.
3. REMEMBER clocks change -- SPRING FORWARD -- Doors open at 8:00 am.
4. We have an order of events, but please do not inquire a specific time.
-- 8:00 doors open
--9:00 Teams in Main gym
--ShowTwirls and Rhythmics in South Gym.
--Directly after teams and rhythmics end, we will start the set system in the MAIN GYM with Modeling.
--Main Gym = Modeling and Strut (ON SET)
--South Gym = BASIC Strutting events -- announcement will be made to report at end of struting competition
-- LUNCH BREAK & SPIN OFF & BABY BASIC (MAIN GYM)
-- All events from this point forward will be in Main Gym on set system.
-- (i.e.: Solos, Duets, 2-baton, 3-baton)
-- Awards Ceremony for 3 part event -- NEAT AWARDS & Guest performances...by PSU Majorettes & others :)
5. Vendors will be located on the Mezzanine Level. They include:
-- Tame Your Mane
-- Cote
-- RJZ Embroidery
-- S&S Sportwear
-- Say it with Sweets
-- The Dance Shoppe
-- Dancers Boutique
7. Pictures by Andy Colwell (amazing Blue Band photographer) will be available for purchase. He will be lingering about the competition floor and also have a set up on Mezzanine level with Beaver Stadium as a back drop.
8. NO FOOD OR DRINK ON COMPETITION FLOOR. This is the home to the 3 Time National Champions..Penn State Women's Volleyball and the floor was just refinished.
8. ALL CONTESTANTS AND FAMILIES NEED TO CHECK IN @ DOOR located on the lower left side of FRONT of building (On Corner of Curtain Road & Burrowes). Pre-paid t-shirts and program books ($2) will be available at this entrance.
9. ALL SPECTATORS must enter @ top of Rec Hall (front door). Door fee is $4 for adults (anyone over 18) and $2 for Children.
